A man who bought the erectile dysfunction drug Viagra from a British online pharmacy has been sentenced to two months’ jail and five years in prison.
According to court documents, the defendant was found guilty by a jury in a case of conspiracy to traffic in counterfeit goods and selling counterfeit goods in England in 2013, which was subsequently prosecuted by the MHRA.
He was convicted in March 2017 of selling counterfeit goods without a prescription and possessing a counterfeit drug that had been prescribed by a licensed medical practitioner. The drugs were distributed to the defendant and his co-conspirators in the UK.
He faces a maximum five-year prison term.
The drugs were sold online at a pharmacy on the UK’s private internet.
The defendant received a four-month prison sentence for his crime and five-year prison term for conspiracy to traffic in counterfeit goods.
The defendant was sentenced to be sentenced to three months’ jail and three years’ supervised release for the conspiracy to traffic in counterfeit goods.
A maximum three-year prison term is also recommended in this case.
According to the drugs seized, the defendant bought them from a British online pharmacy that was registered in the UK. He was arrested and charged with counterfeit goods, which are counterfeits, possession of a counterfeit drug, selling counterfeit goods and other offences.
The drugs were sold online and, at the time of sale, they were being sold to the defendant by the online pharmacy. It was not known if the drugs were genuine or fake.
